With more than 150 years of operational history, Telecom Egypt truly sits at the heart of the Egyptian telecommunications market and is the largest provider of fixed line services in the Middle East and Africa with 9.6 million subscribers, as at the end of September 2009.

As Egypt's incumbent telecommunications operator, Telecom Egypt currently controls Egypt’s only fixed line network, servicing both retail voice and wholesale demand for reliable telecommunications connections. As at 30 September, 2009, we had Net Profit after Tax of EGP 2.6 billion, an increase of 18% in comparison to September 2008.

With the advent of market liberalization, Telecom Egypt has focused on building a strong platform for wholesale services to other telecommunications operators choosing to use its extensive network. Our ability to adapt to a dynamic and changing market is demonstrated by our record of revenue growth with a 5 year CAGR of 19 percent while maintaining stable margins which remain among the industry's highest.

We currently participate in the mobile segment in Egypt by providing mobile interconnectivity via our state-of-the-art infrastructure and through our 44.95% holding in Vodafone Egypt, one of the three existing Egyptian mobile operators.

Through our internet subsidiary, TE Data, we are now a clear ADSL market leader with 572,000 broadband subscribers, which translates to 61% market share of broadband internet access in Egypt as at end of September 2009.
